Remember Pokémon Go? For nine years it got kids and parents outside, phones in hand, chasing creatures on real streets. Players filmed streets, parks, and yards – about 30 billion scans were collected through the game. What players didn't know was where that data would end up. traced the chain. The scans helped train a system that finds a location from what a camera sees when GPS fails. Drones can use exactly that kind of navigation. In 2025 the game was sold.
