#China has formally removed two of its most senior generals, Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli, from the state Central Military Commission amid investigations into suspected serious violations of discipline and law. Zhang, previously the CMC’s senior vice chairman and China’s highest-ranking uniformed officer, and Liu, chief of the CMC Joint Staff Department, had been under investigation since January.
