Yemeni Houthi forces captured the city of Al-Mokha and, in a swift coastal operation, established control over approximately 2,600 square kilometers of territory in western Yemen. This offensive affected the western part of Taiz province and the south of Hodeida province and resulted in massive changes in several areas. It is considered one of the most rapid territorial changes in recent years of the war. Government forces and the National Resistance, led by Tariq Saleh
